Having to deal with really messy and complicated code (a.k.a. my day job) led me to try and find an easier way of pinpointing the right code (i.e. finding a needle in a haystack). I had no idea how complicated and messy code could be until a few months ago. I don’t want to name names, but there is some stuff out there that can really make you wonder.

Luckily, I discovered Firebug, a very useful Firefox add-on that, frankly, is a godsend sometimes. I now use it a lot, even when the code isn’t complicated at all. (Using it is faster than viewing the source and scrolling down.) It’s become a crutch! But it’s great. I highly recommend it.
